3. Personal Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Unscribo.
We may collect:
- first and last name;
- mailing address;
- email address;
- telephone number where provided;
- account login information;
- Provider name;
- Provider account or membership number;
- customer or reference number;
- subscription or membership information;
- subscription price;
- billing frequency;

- reminder preferences;
- correspondence with customer support;
- transaction and order information;
- IP address;
- browser and device information;
- website usage information;
- cookie and consent preferences; and
- other information you voluntarily provide when using the Services.
We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary for the Services you choose to use and for legitimate operational, security, legal, and business purposes.
4. How We Use Personal Information
Depending on how you use Unscribo, we may process Personal Information to:
- provide the Services you request;
- generate Cancellation Letters;
- process and dispatch Cancellation Requests;
- identify the relevant Provider;
- maintain and secure your User account;
- operate the Subscription Management Tools;
- record subscriptions and recurring expenses;
- track renewal dates and trial expiration dates;
- provide renewal or cancellation reminders;
- process payments;
- administer paid subscriptions;
- provide customer support;
- communicate with you regarding the Services;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity;
- diagnose technical problems;
- maintain and improve the Services;
- comply with applicable legal obligations;
- enforce our Terms and Conditions; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use information collected for one purpose for an unrelated purpose where doing so would be inconsistent with applicable privacy law.
5. Cancellation Letters and Cancellation Requests
When you generate a Cancellation Letter, we may process information necessary to create an accurate document.
This may include:
- your name;
- address;
- Provider;
- customer, account, or membership number;
- subscription information;
- cancellation instructions;
- date of the request; and
- other information necessary to identify the relevant agreement.
5.1 Free self-service
Where Unscribo provides a free self-service option, you may generate or download a Cancellation Letter and send it to the Provider yourself.
Generating or downloading a Cancellation Letter does not by itself authorize Unscribo to send that letter to the Provider unless the functionality you select clearly provides otherwise.
5.2 Paid Cancellation Service
If you choose Unscribo’s Paid Cancellation Service, we may use and disclose the information reasonably necessary to prepare, process, print, transmit, mail, or otherwise dispatch the Cancellation Request.
Information may therefore be shared with the relevant Provider and with service providers necessary to perform the Service you requested.
5.3 Records
We may retain records showing that a Cancellation Request was created, purchased, processed, transmitted, or dispatched where reasonably necessary for:
- customer support;
- fraud prevention;
- accounting;
- payment disputes;
- dispute resolution;
- security; or
- legal compliance.
6. Subscription Manager and Renewal Reminders
Unscribo may allow you to store information about subscriptions and recurring expenses in your account.
This may include:
- Provider name;
- subscription or service name;
- recurring price;
- billing frequency;
- next billing date;
- renewal date;
- trial expiration date;
- notice period;
- cancellation deadline;
- account or membership reference;
- notes; and
- reminder preferences.
We use this information to provide subscription-management functionality and reminders requested or enabled by you.
6.1 Adding a subscription does not contact the Provider
Information stored in your Subscription Manager is not shared with the underlying Provider merely because you add that subscription to your Unscribo account.
We will share information with a Provider when necessary to perform a cancellation or another Provider-related action that you request, or where otherwise permitted or required by law.
6.2 Reminders
We may use your contact details and subscription information to provide reminders concerning:
- upcoming renewals;
- trial expirations;
- cancellation deadlines;
- upcoming recurring charges; or
- other subscription events.
You may be able to manage reminder preferences through your account.
A reminder does not itself cancel or modify an agreement with a Provider.
7. User Accounts
If you create an Unscribo account, we may process information necessary to:
- create the account;
- authenticate you;
- maintain the account;
- provide account functionality;
- maintain subscription information;
- protect account security; and
- provide customer support.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
We may maintain records relating to account activity where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, customer support, and legal compliance.
8. Payments
When you purchase a paid Unscribo Service, payments may be processed by third-party payment processors.
Depending on the payment method used, payment processors may collect:
- payment-card information;
- billing information;
- transaction amount;
- transaction identifier;
- IP address;
- device information; and
- other information necessary to process or protect the transaction.
Unscribo does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes on its own systems where payment processing is handled by a third-party payment processor.
We may receive and retain transaction information such as:
- payment status;
- transaction identifier;
- amount paid;
- payment method type;
- date of payment;
- refund status; and
- limited payment information supplied by the payment processor.
Payment information may also be processed where necessary to administer a recurring Unscribo subscription in which you have expressly enrolled.
9. Technical and Usage Information
When you access Unscribo, certain technical information may be collected automatically.
Depending on our systems and configuration, this may include:
- IP address;
- browser type and version;

Because the specific technologies used by Unscribo may change, current information about individual cookies, providers, purposes, and expiration periods may be provided through our Cookie Policy or Cookie Consent Manager.
The cookie information displayed through those tools should reflect the technologies actually in use on the Unscribo website.
11. Analytics and Advertising
We may use analytics services to understand how Users interact with Unscribo and to improve the Services.
Where applicable, we may also use advertising or conversion-measurement technologies.
Such providers may process:
- technical identifiers;
- cookie information;
- IP addresses;
- device information; and
- website interactions.
Where consent is legally required, these technologies will be subject to the User’s cookie or privacy choices.
Relevant providers may be identified through our Cookie Policy, Cookie Consent Manager, or other applicable privacy disclosures.

13. Service Providers
Third parties that process Personal Information on our behalf may be contractually required, where appropriate and legally required, to:
- process information only for authorized purposes;
- protect the confidentiality of Personal Information; and
- implement appropriate security safeguards.
The exact service providers used by Unscribo may change as our infrastructure and Services evolve.
Where required by law, additional information regarding categories or identities of recipients will be provided upon request or through applicable privacy disclosures.
PART II — STORAGE, RIGHTS AND LEGAL INFORMATION
14. Data Retention
We retain Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
These purposes may include:

If you request deletion, we will process the request in accordance with applicable law.
Certain information may need to be retained despite a deletion request where retention is legally permitted or required.
15. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Information against:
- unauthorized access;
- loss;
- misuse;
- alteration; and
- unauthorized disclosure.
These safeguards may include:
- access controls;
- encryption where appropriate;

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a security incident involving Personal Information, we will take appropriate action and provide legally required notifications where applicable.
16. International Data Transfers
Unscribo operates from the Netherlands and may use service providers located in the United States or other countries.
As a result, Personal Information may be processed outside the country in which you live.
Where applicable privacy law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use an appropriate legal mechanism.
For Personal Information subject to European data-protection law, such mechanisms may include:
- an adequacy decision;
- Standard Contractual Clauses;
- another legally recognized transfer mechanism; or

Legitimate interests — where processing is reasonably necessary for purposes such as security, fraud prevention, administration, or improvement of the Services and those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Depending on applicability, these may include rights to:

Where legally required, additional California-specific disclosures may be provided through this Privacy Policy or a separate California privacy notice.
20. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
Unscribo does not sell Personal Information for money.
Certain privacy laws, however, define terms such as “sale,” “share,” or “targeted advertising” more broadly than an ordinary sale for monetary payment.
Advertising, analytics, conversion measurement, or similar technologies may in some circumstances fall within these definitions.
If Unscribo engages in activities that constitute a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law, we will provide legally required:
- disclosures;
- preference controls; and
- opt-out mechanisms.
We will not represent that Personal Information is never sold or shared under applicable privacy law unless our actual technical, analytics, and advertising practices support that statement.
21. Children’s Privacy
Unscribo’s paid Services are intended for adults.
We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age at which parental consent is required under applicable law for the purpose of providing paid cancellation Services.
If we learn that Personal Information from a child has been collected in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete or otherwise appropriately handle that information.
22. Data Access, Correction and Deletion
Subject to applicable privacy law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of Personal Information that Unscribo maintains about you.
Privacy requests may be submitted to:
When submitting a request, please provide enough information for us to reasonably identify you, your account, and the Personal Information to which your request relates.
We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect Personal Information against unauthorized access, alteration, or deletion.

Deleting an Unscribo account may result in loss of access to:

- renewal dates;
- trial information;
- cancellation history;
- reminder settings;

- other account information.
Before deleting an account, Users should retain any information or documents they wish to keep.

Where permitted, we may extend the response period when reasonably necessary and will provide notice where required.
If we deny all or part of a request, we will provide an explanation where required by applicable law.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
